El Zocalo Mexican Restaurant celebrated its grand opening Aug. 30 at 8921 Louetta Road, Spring. The family-owned restaurant offers a menu of traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes for lunch and dinner, a full bar with eight margarita flavors and a children's menu. Harris County commissioners propose lower tax rates with split vote

While the proposed tax rate is lower than the current rate, tax payers may actually end up paying more since the values of homes statewide increased this year, according to County Administrator David Berry.
