Incumbent Valoree Swanson, R-Spring, has won re-election in the race for Texas House District 150, with 774 of 782 Harris County voting centers reporting as of 7:14 a.m on Nov. 9.

Swanson gathered 34,615 votes, or 60.77% of the total, while challenger Ginny Brown Daniel, a Democrat, received 22,347 votes, or 39.23% of the total.

As of 10:45 p.m., with 11 out of 782 Harris County polling precincts reporting, incumbent state Rep. Valoree Swanson, R-Spring, is still leading the race for the Texas House of Representatives District 150 spot against Democratic challenger Ginny Brown Daniel.

Swanson has received 23,913 votes, or 61.63% of the total, while Brown Daniel has earned 14,889 votes, or 38.37% of the total.

Early-voting totals have given incumbent state Rep. Valoree Swanson, R-Spring, an early lead over challenger Ginny Brown Daniel, a Democrat, in the race for Texas House of Representatives District 150.


Swanson received 23,909 early and absentee votes, or 61.64% of all votes, while Brown Daniel received 14,880 votes, or 38.36% of the total, according to early-voting results.

As previously reported by Community Impact, Swanson was first elected to represent District 150 in 2017, and she is running for her fourth term. Brown Daniel serves as a minister in the Spring area.

Texas House members are elected to two-year terms, and District 150 covers the northern portions of the Greater Houston area, including Spring, Tomball and The Woodlands, among others.
