Although commonly mistaken as Mexico’s Independence Day, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday commemorating the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. In the U.S., the holiday is viewed as a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage involving parades, parties, mariachi music, Mexican folk dancing and traditional Mexican food and drink. Here are a few local restaurants in the Spring and Klein area where you can celebrate Cinco de Mayo this Friday.
