Alvin ISD approves new boundaries for elementary, junior high schools

Alvin ISD’s board of trustees approved its new boundaries at its Dec. 12 meeting in preparation for two new schools set to open up in 2024.

The overview

With Barbara Bennett Elementary School and Iowa Colony Junior High School set to open in 2024, AISD officials approved new boundaries for the 2024-25 school year to both address the new schools, as well as deal with a few that are expected to reach capacity in the coming years.

The plan for the boundaries was originally presented to the board at its November meeting. The changes affect a handful of elementary school and junior high schools, according to district documents. Those include:

• Meridiana Elementary
• EC Mason Elementary
• Pomona Elementary
• Savannah Lakes Elementary
• Caffey Junior High
• Manvel Junior High
• Alvin Junior High
• Fairview Junior High
• Rodeo Palms Junior High

The boundaries were unanimously approved.
