Friendswood ISD has officially approved its academic calendar for the 2022-23 school year. The new calendar was unanimously approved at the Dec. 13 school board meeting.

The board previously drafted a version of the calendar at the
Nov. 8 board meeting. Based on the approved calendar, school is expected to start Aug. 16 and end May 25 as an early dismissal day. Additionally, Oct. 12 will be used as a day for administering the PSAT and parent-teacher conferences—something that was not included in the 2021-22 academic calendar.

The calendar also has winter break starting Dec. 21 as an early dismissal day and ending Jan. 4 with school resuming Jan. 5. Thanksgiving break will continue to be a week long and take place from Nov. 21-25, per the approved calendar.
