Upcoming projects

Mykawa Road widening

Project: Construction on Mykawa Road will consist of roughly 3 miles of a 4-lane divided boulevard with storm drainage, signals, lighting, landscaping and a 10-foot shared-use path, among other features.

Update: 90% of design submittals have been received and are being reviewed by city staff and the Texas Department of Transportation. TxDOT is bidding, constructing and managing the project.
  • Timeline: construction slated to start in 2028 with a completion in 2030
  • Cost: $21.4 million
  • Funding sources: Houston-Galveston Area Council, bonds and other sources
Pearland Parkway intersection improvement


Project:
Pearland Parkway at Barry Rose Road dual left-turn lanes and dedicated right-turn lanes will be installed to increase traffic volume capacity and improve traffic congestion.

Update: As of October, the project is currently in its design phase.
  • Timeline: construction slated to start in April 2026 with completion in May 2027
  • Cost: $1.52 million

Shadow Creek Parkway intersection improvements

Project:
The project consists of nearly 10 intersection improvements at Shadow Creek Ranch to address traffic congestion.


Update: Construction began on Oct. 1.
  • Timeline: slated completion by Dec. 31, 2026
  • Cost: $9.04 million
  • Funding source: tax increment reinvestment zone reimbursable debt
