Here's the latest updates on several Montgomery County Precinct 4 transportation projects in New Caney and Porter. This list is not comprehensive.
Upcoming projects
1. Ford Road Segment 2
Project: Ford Road will be widened to four lanes with a turn lane between Needham Road and Ricewood Drive, and reconstructed between Ricewood Drive and the county line. The intersection at Ford Road and Ricewood Drive will be signalized, and ditches will be reconstructed.
Update: Final design for this project is underway, Precinct 4 officials confirmed via email April 7.

2. Galaxy Boulevard extension
Project: Galaxy Boulevard will be extended north of FM 1485/the Grand Parkway. An exact project map is still being determined.
Update: The contract for this project has been finalized and approved, Precinct 4 officials said.

3. Gene Campbell Road widening
Project: Gene Campbell Road will be widened to five lanes with roadside ditches between FM 1314 and FM 1485. The project will also include the realignment of Tree Monkey Road at Gene Campbell Road, and intersection improvements at FM 1314 and FM 1485.
Update: The project is in negotiation with a consultant, and project kickoff will begin after contract approval, Precinct 4 officials said.

4. Old Houston Road Segment 1
Project: Old Houston Road will be widened to four lanes with a continuous turn lane and roadside ditches between Hwy. 242 and 0.8 miles south of Hwy. 242.
Update: Final design for this project is complete, Precinct 4 officials said.

5. Old Houston Road Segment 2
Project: Old Houston Road will be widened to four lanes with a continuous turn lane and roadside ditches between 0.8 miles south of Hwy. 242 and Rodriguez Road.
Update: Field work for this project, including surveying and geotechnical investigations, is currently underway, Precinct 4 officials said.

6. Old Houston Road Segment 3

7. Ford Road Segment 1
Project: Ford Road will be reconstructed between Hwy. 59 and Loop 494 and widened to four lanes with a continuous turn lane between Loop 494 and Needham Road. The project also includes modifications to Loop 494 for improved conditions.
Update: This project is under construction, Precinct 4 officials said.

8. Sorters Road Segment 2
