The new 21-acre Atascocita Park, located at 17302 W. Lake Houston Parkway, Atascocita, opened to the community June 24. The grand opening ceremony was postponed due to rain, but parkgoers were still able to visit the park beginning June 24.

The Harris County Precinct 2 park features a concrete path system, an extensive playground area, a natural pond with a boardwalk and a dog park for big and small dogs. The $11.49 million park also includes a pavilion and a Little Free Library box for the community.

Precinct 2 officials ask that parkgoers practice social distancing and wear masks while visiting Atascocita Park to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Many parkgoers were seen wearing masks June 25.

The park is open from dusk to dawn every day of the week.
