A $2.9 million road repair project in southeast Humble will kick off in early 2026 after Humble City Council approved the selected construction company Nov. 13.

The gist

The project will include repairs to McDugald Road, Sharon Drive, Carolyn Court, Rankin Road and Kingfisher Drive, according to Nov. 13 City Council meeting documents. Ballast Point Construction—which is based out of Katy—was chosen for the road project.

According to meeting documents, the project will consist of replacing or adding:
  • Asphalt pavement with concrete pavement with curb and gutters
  • Storm sewer and water lines
  • Fire hydrants along McDugald Road

Eleven construction firms submitted bids for the city street project before Ballast Point Construction was chosen, according to meeting documents. Southwest Houston-based engineering firm ARKK Engineers helped design the project.


Looking forward

During the Nov. 13 meeting, project representatives said work will begin after Jan. 1.
