Humble ISD to debut 'Toy Town' playground at district’s Early Childhood Center

Humble ISD officials will celebrate the opening of a new “Toy Town”-themed playground at the district’s Early Childhood Center, with a dedication ceremony May 19 at 5:30 p.m.

According to an April 29 news release, the playground is designed for children ages 2-5 and includes the following features:

• A rocket play structure
• A Western-themed play tower
• A wheelchair-accessible carousel
• A net structure
• A car-themed play structure

The playground was designed and installed by KOMPAN, per the release.

Some context

The new playground is coming as part of the district’s ongoing campus playground revitalization initiative, which was included in the district's $775 million bond package approved by voters in 2022. Officials noted HISD playgrounds are open to the public when school is not in session.
