Construction on a replacement campus for Humble ISD’s Foster Elementary is scheduled to begin in September, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.

Some context

Construction of the new campus is coming as a part of a $775 million bond package approved by voters in May 2022.

In January, HISD trustees approved a relocation plan that will disseminate the students currently attending Foster Elementary to four separate HISD elementary campuses in Kingwood.

Christy Erb, the district’s assistant superintendent of elementary schools, said the relocation was necessary because the new campus will be constructed in close proximity to the old campus.

What’s next

According to the filing, construction on the roughly $44 million, 122,000-square-foot campus is expected to be complete in July 2026.

Officials noted the relocation plan for current Foster Elementary students would be in place for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years.
