An announcement on The Original Marini’s Empanada House’s website said the restaurant closed at 3522 S. Mason Road, Ste. 100, Katy, as of April 16, temporarily, to find a new location in the city. Officials with the family-owned, long-standing restaurant with a tenacious history wrote in a message to patrons that it will continue sharing its Argentinian heritage with the Katy community, but no timeline has been identified for reopening.

Marini’s spinach, beef "gaucho" and chicken "diablo" empanadas are signified as founders Marcello and Pelusa Marini’s traditional recipe and customer favorites on the restaurant’s menu. Marini’s serves both savory and sweet empanadas with a variety of ingredients and vegetarian options, as well as specialty salads and sandwiches.

While the owners of the Katy store search for a new home, The Original Marini’s Empanada House in Westchase will still operate at 10001 Westheimer Road, Ste. 2570, Houston. 713-266-2729 (Houston location). www.theoriginalmarinisempanadahouse.com
