Katy Rock Shop at 535 Pin Oak Road, Katy, has new owners. Bruce and Carol Huff, who opened the store in 2012, passed the ownership to Jacob and Astrid Proctor in October. The Proctors are geologists and have taken hundreds of photos of mines and miners in Brazil and collected rocks, Jacob Proctor said. The Huffs sponsored several of the Proctors’ Brazilian exports while the Proctors were a shop supplier. Katy Rock Shop sells jewelry, polished stones, minerals and fossils. An open house is planned for Nov. 23 so that the community can get to know the Proctors. The event will include rock exhibitions, food trucks and music. 832-437-4733. www.katyrockshop.com
