HCC postpones May 11 commencement, moves graduation ceremonies to May 17

Houston Community College is postponing commencement and graduation ceremonies due to the threat of heavy rains and flooding.

Originally scheduled for May 11, the ceremonies will now be held at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 17 at NRG Stadium, on NRG Parkway in Houston, according to a press release.

“HCC apologizes for any inconvenience, but the safety of its students is its number one concern,” the release states.

Graduates and attendees are encouraged to check HCC’s graduation website at hccs.edu/graduation and social media for updates. Questions and concerns can be directed to graduation@hccs.edu.

HCC has campuses in Katy, Missouri City and Stafford, as well as multiple locations across Houston including inside Loop 610 and in the Spring Branch and Alief areas.
