Several public school districts and colleges throughout the Greater Houston area will remain closed throughout the week, due to torrential rain and flooding caused by Tropical Storm Harvey. The following districts and colleges have reported closures as of the time of publication:

- New Caney ISD
- Friendswood ISD
- Conroe ISD
- Sam Houston State University
- Magnolia ISD
- Montgomery ISD
- Willis ISD
- University of Houston (including Sugar Land campus)
Closed until further notice
- Texas State Technical College - Fort Bend campus
