Katy-area ZIP codes in Harris County reported a total of 2,225 recoveries, accounting for 55.4% of all confirmed cases within six ZIP codes, according to data available at 5 p.m. July 22.

Out of Katy's three counties, only Harris County’s dashboard reports full ZIP code level data for active cases, recoveries and deaths.

In ZIP code 77449—which falls fully within Harris County—there are a total 1,003 recoveries out of the 1,650 total confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Six cases have died in the ZIP code, bringing the active case total to 641.

One new death was reported in ZIP code 77084 in Harris County, according to July 22 data. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the Katy area to 19, though Fort Bend County is not reporting this data at the ZIP-code level. Waller County has not reported any deaths. The last time a new death was reported in the Katy area was on July 15.

Fort Bend County reported a total of 588 confirmed cases among three ZIP codes that fall within the county in the Katy-area. This is a day-over-day increase of 36 cases.

ZIP code 77494—which also falls partially within Harris and Waller counties—has a total of 460 confirmed cases in Fort Bend County.


Waller County issued a July 20 update on its COVID-19 webpage. No new cases in the city of Katy or the Katy area were reported. All 10 cases have recovered.

In total, there are 4,617 confirmed cases across the Katy area’s seven ZIP codes, a daily increase of 183.
