The musical is based on Sam Raimi’s 1980s cult classic films. Five college students travel to a wooded cabin and unleash an evil force. Oct. 1: Houston NF Walk
A day of games, music, food and activities with superheroes benefits the Children’s Tumor Foundation and honors those with neurofibromatosis (NF). This is the second year for the event. Children’s Tumor Foundation is a nonprofit focused on improving the health and well-being of those affected by NF and their families. Oct. 1: St. Paul's Fall Festival & Craft Show

Oct. 2: Katy Triathlon at Firethorne
Athletes participate in a three-part race that features a 500-meter swim, a 14.8-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. An after-party follows the 24th annual event, which benefits the scholarship fund of the Rotary Club of Katy. Spectators are welcome to attend. 7:30 a.m. (start).
