Fort Bend Transit, the county's public transportation department, broke ground on its new Westpark Park and Ride facility Jan. 29.

Upon completion, the $7.42 million facility will support a future commuter service to the Energy Corridor, according to a news release from Fort Bend County.

The details

Construction on the facility, which is located at 19820 FM 1093, Richmond, is set to wrap up in November, per the release. The facility will include 262 parking spaces.

“I am very excited about the long-awaited Westpark Park and Ride connection that will give Precinct [1] commuters the opportunity to travel from the Cinco Ranch area to the Energy Corridor,” Precinct 1 Commissioner Vincent Morales said in the release.
