Rainforest Cafe is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a special celebration in October, according to its website.

The overview

The jungle-themed restaurant opened its first location in 1994 in Bloomington, Minnesota, and has expanded to include 23 locations worldwide, according to its website. The four Texas locations include:
  • 5310 Seawall Blvd., Galveston
  • 3000 Grapevine Mills Parkway, Grapevine
  • 5000 Katy Mills Circle, Katy
  • 110 East Crockett St., San Antonio
On the menu

In honor of the anniversary, the restaurant will bring back classic favorites such as bimini chicken, Islands in the Stream Salmon and Southern Cross Lasagne, according to the website.

Additionally, the menu brings a new Rainforest Tsunami Cake featuring four layers of red velvet and chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, white and dark chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinkles and chocolate candies, according to the website.


Dates to know

The franchise will host a 30th anniversary celebration at 13 of its locations, including Galveston, Grapevine, Katy and San Antonio on Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. featuring a three-course menu with choices of:
  • Starter: soup or salad
  • Entree: top sirloin dinner, Pastalaya, bourbon salmon and shrimp, or Taste of the Islands
  • Dessert: cheesecake or key lime pie
