The overview
Proud Pie's owner Scott Chapman announced a partnership with Dish Society, a Katy restaurant, to keep the beloved pies in the oven, one month after the nearly 9-year-old business closed its doors.
Beginning July 30, two Proud Pie flavors—State Fair Caramel Apple and Pier House Key Lime—will be available at 2643 Commercial Center Blvd., Ste. B350, Katy, according to a July 25 news release.
“Dish Society is the perfect fit to continue the work that we started and to continue the Proud Pie name,” Chapman said in the release. “You still can’t get the smile off my face.”
Dish Society, a concept of Five 12 Restaurants Concepts, was founded in 2014 with a goal to make locally sourced meals accessible, according to the release. The brand has four Houston locations, with another opening at William P. Hobby Airport later this year, and one Austin location.

Wanting to expand the restaurant’s dessert program, Dish Society leadership said they were fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with a bakery so like-minded, said Aaron Lyons, Five 12 Restaurants Concept founder and CEO, in the release.
“Proud Pie is an institution in west Houston,” he said. “Scott is super talented and an amazing guy, and he’s built a loyal following. We’re big fans and wanted to help. Between four Dish Society locations and Daily Gather, we have five stores throughout Houston where you will be able to pick up pie or order online, so we’re all excited to make Proud Pie more accessible to Houston in general.”
What else?
Additionally, the third annual Katy Pie Run will continue featuring Proud Pie slices on Jan. 18 benefitting Camp Hope, which is a part of the PTSD Foundation of America. The event will feature the following three races:
- 10K run
- 5K run
- 3.14K run/walk
Going forward
Following the trial period at Dish Society’s Katy location, Proud Pie offerings will join Dish Society’s other Houston and Austin locations as well as at its sister restaurant Daily Gather, according to the release.
Guests can also expect to see rotating seasonal offerings as well as appearances of other crowd favorites of Chapman’s 575 specialty pie recipes.
