Co-founders Jason McCourt, Jeremy Koger and Matt Caldwell wanted to provide an experience they said they didn’t get at other gyms: high-quality amenities for an affordable price, McCourt said.
“We're essentially trying to build ... what would be our dream gym,” he said, noting it’s a “passion project” for the trio. The details
The 27,000-square-foot facility will offer hand-selected cardio and strength training equipment, separate saunas for men and women, a shop and smoothie bar, kids area and a posing room, McCourt said.
The posing room, where members can practice poses with lighting and mirrors, was an important amenity to McCourt, Koger and Caldwell, who are all competitive bodybuilders, McCourt said.
In addition to equipment, gym members can access:
- Personal and group training
- Speed and agility training for student athletes
- Group fitness classes, such as Zumba, yoga and mat Pilates
- Reformer Pilates for an additional cost
The gym is located in Marcel Gardens Town Center, an in-development shopping center near the FM 1093 entrance of Cross Creek Ranch. This spot will allow the founders to service resident who don't have a gym nearby, McCourt said.
“As the development continues to go further out west, our location is key for them, because some of those folks are driving 45 minutes one way to get to Life Time Fitness right now,” he said.
What’s next
Until August, Arco Fit Gym & Wellness will offer a discounted monthly membership price of $80 for a single member, with founding members also receiving discounts at the on-site shop, McCourt said. Single membership prices will increase to $100 monthly after the founding registration period.
