Katy and Fulshear residents have one final chance May 2 to weigh in on several local races.
What residents need to know
City of Katy and Katy ISD residents are required to vote in their assigned voter precinct from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on election day, according to the district’s website.
Meanwhile, Fulshear voters can cast their votes at any of the 37 polling centers across Fort Bend County, per the county’s website.
Voters should bring at least one of seven forms of appropriate identification options to the polls, including a Texas drivers license, personal ID card, handgun license, military ID card or U.S. passport, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
On the ballot
The May 2 election will include several positions on Katy City Council, Katy ISD board of trustees and Fulshear City Council, including:
Katy ISD board of trustees, Position 4
Katy ISD board of trustees, Position 5
Fulshear City Council, District 2
Fulshear City Council, District 5
Fulshear voters will also determine whether to increase the city’s general fund sales tax from 1% to 1.25% while reducing the city’s Economic Development Corp. A-Board sales tax from 0.5% to 0.25%.
