Katy ISD is moving forward with adjustments to its high school graduation schedule for 2027.
What you need to know
After holding one ceremony per evening at Legacy Stadium over the last seven years, Katy ISD officials announced the district will now use both Rhodes Stadium and Legacy Stadium for high school graduation ceremonies beginning in 2027, according to a letter sent to parents.
The change, which is due to the district adding a new high school, will feature the same ceremony format across five evenings with two ceremonies each night.
Sorting out the details
Next year's ceremonies will go from Wednesday, May 26, 2027—which is the final day of school—through Sunday, May 30, 2027, with hopes these changes will offer opportunities for travel, family gatherings and graduation celebrations, per the letter.
Dates and stadium assignments were predicated on when the schools were established, from oldest to newest, and the size of the 2027 graduating classes, with larger classes going to Legacy Stadium, according to the letter.
Looking ahead
Campuses and venues will continue to rotate as future graduation schedules are created, aligning with Katy ISD’s long-standing practice.
