With clean ingredients and family recipes, Rosaura and Fernando Garduno have served freshly made Mexican cuisine to the Katy and Fulshear area since 2019.
The couple grew up in different parts of Mexico but moved to the Houston area in 2012, knowing they wanted to bring something different than Tex-Mex and fajitas to the restaurant scene.
On the menu
At Ferso’s, every dish is made fresh and in-house, with even the meat processed, marinated and cut at the restaurant, to the chips and salsa served, Fernando Garduno said.
“It's tastier, and we try to keep [the chips and salsa] in small batches so it feels as fresh as possible when it comes to the table,” Rosaura Garduno said.
The menu is inspired by local dishes made from different parts of Mexico, bringing diverse tastes from different cities across the country.
Rosaura Garduno said one of her favorite dishes is the Pollo con Mole, a chicken leg quarter covered with the restaurant’s signature handcrafted mole sauce and served with rice and corn tortillas.

Another popular dish is the Alambre Ferso’s, a plate with grilled beef or chicken, bacon, bell peppers, onions, rice and black beans, along with tortillas.
Rosaura Garduno said Ferso’s menu is meant to taste like food straight from Mexico and that customers can taste the difference.
“They tell us, ‘Hey, it feels different. The food seems fresh and from scratch—it's something different,” she said.
The biggest compliment we can get is when someone’s dish is empty and then they come back with their friends, Fernando Garduno said.
One more thing
Last August, Ferso’s moved to a new location near the intersection of FM 1463 and FM 1093 and was named one of the best 100 restaurants in Texas, Fernando Garduno said.
Customers can dine in, order to-go or book the restaurant for special events and parties.
