The do-it-yourself candle bar offers more than 100 fragrance options to choose from, with staff available to guide the process, according to its website. Candles start at $39 when using a 7.5-ounce basic vessel and require a four-hour cooling time.

Heart Notes also sells signature, eco-friendly soy candles for $29, and the candle bar can be rented out for special events.

A closer look

Founded by Nicole Dunn, the name of the candle store reflects the concept of the space—the "heart note" defines the core essence of a scent and reveals a fragrance’s true character, per the store's website.

“That concept deeply resonated with me, as I’ve been on my own journey of discovering and embracing my authentic self,” Dunn wrote on the website. “I wanted to create a space where others could do the same—express themselves freely, craft something meaningful and connect with others in a genuine way.”
