Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated Gatsby's Prime Seafood opened at the former site of trio of Italian restaurants owned by the Mandola family where the Harlow District is underway. The eatery is opening at the former site of Tony Mandola's nearby, and is not part of the forthcoming Harlow District.

Following their conversion of Daisy Buchanan Lounge into an expansion of Gatsby's Prime Steakhouse in late 2021, officials with Gatsby Hospitality Group are now announcing plans for a new upscale seafood concept, Gatsby’s Prime Seafood, slated to open in late September.

The 6,700-square-foot restaurant will be located at the former location of Tony Mandola’s at 1212 Waugh Drive, Houston.

Like other Gatsby concepts, the vibe of Gatsby's Prime Seafood will be inspired by 1920s American culture and society captured in the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel The Great Gatsby.

The menu will be highlighted by fresh seafood items, including a Branzino fliet, New Bedford scallops, sea bass and caviar offerings. The venue will also serve alcoholic beverages and desserts.

“What may appear on the surface to be a concept without much deviation from Gatsby’s Prime Steakhouse is rather a carefully envisioned expansion of the Gatsby’s brand into an entirely new culinary category,” Gatsby Hospitality Owner Luis Rangel said in a statement. “We plan to deliver the level of professionalism in all aspects that guests have come to enjoy at Prime Steakhouse while simultaneously upping the ante in regard to the presentation, flavor, and consistency of all dishes.”

The new eatery can seat up to 225 guests, including at an outdoor patio and at a bar area.
