Following a soft launch in 2023, a grand opening has been set for Jan. 27 for a second location of the Houston-based Maine-ly Sandwiches in Sawyer Yards.

Known for its authentic lobster roll sandwiches made with Maine lobster, the eatery will open in a location formerly occupied by Sticky's Chicken. Other offerings will include clam strips and clam chowder. The store will operate on a bring-your-own-beer basis.

A grand opening celebration will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 27 and will include a DJ, samples, raffles and a 10% discount for all guests.

The original location of the restaurant, which opened in 2013, closed following Hurricane Harvey. A location that opened in 2017 can still be found at 7620 Katy Freeway, Ste. 225, Houston.

"There is little Maine or New England cuisine in Houston, and we wanted to change that,” Maine-ly Sandwiches co-founder Buddy Charity said in a statement. "For a long time since the Shepherd location closed due to Harvey, we have been looking for another location inside the loop and found this perfectly exquisite location in Sawyer Yards with plenty of parking. ... Sawyer Yards is a great family destination and a perfect place for expansion."
