DUO Houston, a hybrid fitness and cafe concept that has been operating in River Oaks since 2021, will soon be available to Montrose residents as well.
Owners of the business announced plans in March to open a second location in the fall in the Autry Park mixed-use development. The new location of the business—run by the husband-and-wife duo of Marcus and Karman Lovely—will go on the first level of the Hanover Parkview midrise apartment building, 3737 Cogdell St., Houston.
The new 4,200-square-foot location will feature double the space of the original, room for two fitness studios, and a cafe that can accommodate 65 guests across indoor and outdoor seating options, according to a March 6 press release. The fitness will includes 12-reformer Pilates machines and will offer a wide variety of reformer Pilates classes and a “spin theater.” Classes will be able to be as large as 42 people, according to the release.
Meanwhile, the cafe will offer specialty coffee, smoothies, a full bar and kitchen, and an all-day food menu. Food will range from breakfast tacos and acai bowls for breakfast to paninis and flat breads for lunch and dinner, according to the release.
The bar will also be a step up from the original location with an expanded cocktail menu as well as wine and beer.
“We are thrilled to continue to expand in Houston and open our doors at Autry Park,” Karman Lovely said in a statement. “With the bustling energy of the neighborhood, walkability and Buffalo Bayou Park across the street, Autry Park is a natural fit for DUO and aligns with our company values of positivity, diversity and inclusivity.”
Upon completion, Autry Park will feature five towers offering roughly 1,450 residential units, 350,000 square feet of Class A office space and over 100,000 square feet of curated retail.
