Heights tea shop and microblender Teasip served its last cup of tea at its brick and mortar location at 321 W. 19th St., Ste. A, Houston, on March 19, according to the brand's Facebook.

An excerpt from a letter from Teasip founder and CEO Jessica Boyd posted on the shop's window—which was posted to Houston Heights Foodies group on Facebook by Jaqey Johnston—reads:

Despite trying to stay positive and keep an optimistic view of our future, the events of the past few years have been very tough for us as s young small business. We have battled hard, but even the bravest and toughest fighters lose some fights. Costs for ingredients, rent, employees and supplies continue to rise --- most double or triple from when we started.

The brand has scaled back, selling entirely from its website.

Boyd's letter concluded with:

It has truly been a joy serving you all through out 19th Street Shop since our inception in 2017. We received such a warm welcome from our little Houston Heights community and have loved creating fun tea experiences and delicious teas for you each and every day. We will miss you all dearly.
