Houston Methodist is set to expand several patient care areas within its new Cypress hospital, which opened its doors off Hwy. 290 in March.

Houston Methodist is expected to begin the $50 million renovation in November, according to a Sept. 5 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The project consists of several interior buildouts totaling 82,300 square feet, according to TDLR, including:
- Operating rooms and a critical care unit on the second level
- A dialysis area on the fifth level
- A surgical inpatient floor on the sixth level
A Houston Methodist spokesperson told Community Impact the Cypress hospital has seen significant growth and desire for additional services since it opened, and the hospital is finalizing plans for various expansion projects.
