MESA Outreach is kicking off its “Stuff the Bus” back-to-school drive and looking to the community to support students in need for the 2022-23 school year.

The local nonprofit has set a goal to supply 1,000 students across six Cy-Fair and Katy ISD elementary schools with supplies needed for the new school year. Officials are asking for donations of Kleenex; individually wrapped, nut-free snacks; and new or gently used backpacks for pre-K-fifth grade.

Supplies can be delivered to MESA’s food pantry at 16000 Rippling Water Drive, Houston, on Aug. 14. Sponsorships of $25 will also cover the cost of one student’s school supply packet. Monetary donations can be accepted online at www.mesa-outreach.org or mailed in via check payable to MESA Outreach designated for Stuff the Bus - Back to School Drive to PO Box 841075, Houston, TX 77284.

Volunteers will also be needed to sort, count, load and deliver supplies Aug. 15-16. Contact [email protected] for more information or to volunteer.
