Home Depot has leased 770,640 square feet of warehouse space at the Grand National Business Park, a master-planned development being planned on a 106-acre tract at the southeast corner of Gessner Road and Beltway 8, west of the Sam Houston Race Park.

A representative with Home Depot confirmed the signing, but declined to provide additional details about the company's plans for the site at this point in time. The signing is part of an effort by Home Depot to speed up delivery and eventually reach 90 percent of customers with same day/next day delivery, officials said.

Grand National Business Park, a Class A project by the international real estate firm Hines, was announced in July 2018. Home Depot will occupy the anchor space, and plans for the site also include six additional buildings, two of which have been leased.

According to a press release, the project will be built in two phases, the first of which will provide 500,000 square feet of logistics space and is on schedule to be completed in April 2020. The site will also include 24,000 square feet of retail space and possible pad sites along the Beltway 8 frontage road, according to a site plan.
