The Houston metro ranked as the top-performing metropolitan area with 13 communities in the top 50. These communities represented over 4,800 sales in the first half of 2023, accounting for nearly 24% of all sales among the ranked communities, the report stated.
Despite ongoing worries about rising interest rates and affordability issues, a significant majority of master-planned community officials conveyed a positive outlook for sales prospects in the latter half of the year, according to the RCLCO report.
By the numbers
Sales in Bridgeland, which was developed by The Howard Hughes Corp., were up 59% from last year, with 511 home sales by midyear. Officials in an Aug. 1 news release said the community is slated to have a record-breaking sales year.
Sales in Marvida, which was developed by Land Tejas/Starwood Land, were up 49% from last year with 478 home sales by midyear.

Bridgeland’s fourth residential village, Creekland Village, will have its grand opening this fall, according to the Aug. 1 news release.
In September, Marvida will open its amenities center, known as The Island, showcasing a lazy river, splash pads, tennis courts, dog parks and more.
