During its Sept. 12 meeting, Conroe City Council approved arts and culture grant awards amounts for multiple local organizations for fiscal year 2024-25.
The breakdown
Sixteen organizations will receive a portion of the $210,000 the city allocates toward the arts and culture grants, according to the Sept. 11 workshop meeting agenda packet.
- Christian Youth Theater: $14,500
- Conroe Art League: $15,000
- Conroe Symphony Orchestra: $15,000
- Crighton Theater Foundation: $15,000
- Friends of the Flag Foundation: $13,500
- GCAA: $15,000
- Golden Needles Quilt Guild: $8,000
- Heritage Museum of Montgomery County: $15,000
- Montgomery County Choral Society: $15,000
- Montgomery County Genealogical & Historical Society: $7,500
- Montgomery County Literary Arts Council: $7,500
- Main Stage Productions: $15,000
- Player's Theatre Company: $15,000
- The Daybreak Chorus: $10,000
- The Jazz Connection: $14,000
- Young Texas Artists: $15,000
This is the second year the funds for the grants are coming from the hotel occupancy tax fund and not the general fund, a change that was made prior to FY 2023-24, Community Impact previously reported.
