Editor's note: This story has been updated to include a correction on a county commissioner candidate's name. A Republican Precinct 2 Commissioner candidate in the March primaries is named Jennifer Eckhart, not Amy Eckhart.

The deadline to file for candidacy in Texas elections ended Dec. 13. In Montgomery County, 22 candidates filed for county offices in the March 1 primaries, according to the secretary of state's office.

Of note, three candidates, including incumbent Mark Keough, filed for the county judge seat. Two candidates each, including incumbents Charlie Riley and James Metts, filed for commissioner seats for Precincts 2 and 4.

The first day to apply for a ballot by mail will be Jan. 1, and the last day to apply will be Feb. 18; mail-in ballots can be submitted until March 1. Early voting will run from Feb. 14-25, according to the secretary of state’s office.
