Two out of three Lone Star College board incumbents up for reelection in November will run against challengers, according to an Aug. 23 email from a spokesperson for the college system.

On the ballot

LSC Chair Michael Stoma and trustee Ernestine M. Pierce—who serve Districts 1 and 2, respectively—filed for reelection on Nov. 5, according to the LSC email. Those who filed to run against them are:
  • Paul A. Santillan and Shashanka P. Ahsili for District 1
  • Daniel “Danny” Meza for District 2
Board Secretary Mike Sullivan, who serves District 8, was the only candidate to file for his position, according to the LSC email.

The deadline to file to run was Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. while July 22 was the first day candidates could file.

LSC’s trustees serve six-year terms, according to LSC’s website. LSC trustees serving Districts 3, 4 and 9 will be up for election in 2026 while Districts 5, 6 and 7 will be up for election in 2028.
