A guaranteed maximum price of about $26 million for Montgomery High School renovations—slated to begin this summer—was approved by Montgomery ISD trustees on March 19.

Two-minute impact

The unanimously approved guaranteed maximum price for the Montgomery High School renovations include about $4.8 million in project alternates and about $21.2 million for the project’s base cost, according to MISD Chief Operations Officer Kris Lynn. According to a March 26 email from Lynn, the approved alternates include:
  • Painting classrooms
  • Replacing the Montgomery High School main campus roof
  • Replacing the structured cabling in Montgomery High School's ninth-grade campus
“These improvements will positively impact the learning environment at the school and allow our teachers and staff to support the needs of our students for years to come,” board President Laurie Turner said in a March 21 board recap post from MISD.

Construction on the Montgomery High School renovations is expected to wrap up in the summer of 2025. The revamp will be funded by MISD's May 2022 $326.9 million bond.
