Willis ISD Superintendent Tim Harkrider announced he is leaving WISD and pursuing an opportunity with College Station ISD.

The district announced on June 12 that Harkrider will be leaving the district. According to an announcement from the district, Harkrider is moving over to College Station ISD, where he is the lone finalist to be superintendent of schools for the district. Harkrider has been superintendent of WISD since 2013, according to the announcement.

“My family and I have enjoyed the past 11 years we spent in Willis. It has been a privilege to serve this community,” Harkrider said in the announcement. “We will miss our friends in Willis, but we are looking forward to this new opportunity in College Station.”

According to the announcement, the WISD board of trustees will hold a special meeting to establish a timeline and a plan for a superintendent search. The date of the meeting has yet to be announced.
