In a socially distanced ceremony, Conroe High School graduates celebrated completing their high school journey June 4, despite the struggle of distance learning.

Throughout the first week of June, Conroe ISD has celebrated the graduating class of 2020 from each of its high schools in small ceremonies in the Woodforest Bank Stadium.

Principal Rotasha Smith said through the "chaos" of the coronavirus pandemic, the graduates can still look to the future with hope.

"Now more than ever, we have learned that what is expected is not guaranteed. Plans that were made about this year—even some as early as the day you were born—were not brought into fruition, and I would be remiss not to acknowledge that disappointment," Smith said. "However, through the pain of the disruption of the plans that we've created, we've learned the power and purpose of why we were created. This pandemic and everything else going on has taught us that above all, we need each other."

CISD will celebrate graduations through June 5. Ceremonies will be livestreamed and are available online.
