Lake Creek High School, Montgomery ISD’s second high school, will open for the 2018-19 school year on Tuesday. The new high school, located at 20639 FM 2854 in Montgomery, will help alleviate crowding at Montgomery High School. Montgomery High School has a recommended capacity of 2550, yet it had 2590 students enrolled in the 2017-18 school year.

Lake Creek features six athletic fields—a baseball practice field, a softball practice field, and four joint football and soccer fields—three gymnasiums and a 996-seat auditorium. The 361,528-square-foot high school also features tennis courts.

Lake Creek’s school colors are navy blue and vegas gold, and the mascot is the lion. The $98.28 million high school will open with an enrollment of approximately more than 900 ninth, 10th and 11th graders. Moreover, the school will incorporate 12th graders beginning in the 2019-20 school year.
