Conroe government and business leaders gathered on Oct. 20 to celebrate the groundbreaking of the hotel project Hyatt Regency Conroe and Convention Center.

Conroe Mayor Jody Czajkoski and Chief Financial Officer Steve Williams delivered remarks at the ceremony, praising the work that the city and its partners had done to bring the project through its planning phase.

“This is a landmark day in the history of our city. Hyatt Regency Conroe will be another jewel in the crown of America’s miracle city," Czajkoski said. "We’re not only thrilled to see this fantastic project move forward but are also excited about the economic development opportunities it brings along with it.”

The hotel will be located in the master-planned community Grand Central Park, located on I-45 just south of Loop 336, according to a city press release.

The hotel will include amenities, such as a full-service restaurant, full bar, pool deck, fitness facility, and a market, and it is anticipated to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.
