The Picky Fig Farm Stand brings a self-serve, honor-system stop for homemade goods and farm-fresh staples, owner Susanna Townend said.

The details

Townend said her family moved from Houston to the country during the COVID-19 pandemic in search of a slower pace and a deeper connection to the land. What started with gardening, beekeeping and raising chickens grew into a family project—and eventually, a farm stand.

Townend said placing the stand on the grounds of Convenience RV at the Fish Pond—next door to the Fish Pond Restaurant—felt like a natural extension of the family’s investment in the area as the restaurant is being revamped and expanded.

The stand offers small-batch habanero jam, pickled dill carrots, baked goods, free-range eggs, herbs and seasonal flowers, Townend said.
