Boba Queen Tea & Thai Sweets, owned and operated by Thai couple Pawarise and Ohm Nilkamhang, was brought to the Conroe area last April before it expanded to a second location in Montgomery last July.

Staying local

Pawarise Nilkamhang said her husband previously owned a Thai restaurant in New York and hoped to open a restaurant in the Conroe area. However, their tight schedules prohibited them from operating a restaurant.

As an alternative, the couple decided to open an authentic Taiwanese boba shop in the area to offer a variety of Taiwanese and Thai teas.

Pawarise Nilkamhang said the idea for the business came from her family's love for boba, as when the couple moved to the Conroe area in 2021, she said they were forced to drive out to Houston for it.

On the menu

Boba Queen Tea & Thai Sweets offers a variety of milk teas, fruit teas, slushies and smoothies as well as toppings.

Some customer favorites include the Thailand tea, which is imported from Thailand; brown sugar milk tea; Oreo cream milk tea; and taro milk tea.

Along with toppings imported from Taiwan, such as the house boba, the boba shop also offers crystal boba, mixed jellies, aloe vera and popping boba.

Pawarise Nilkamhang said although the boba shop offers a variety of toppings, she encourages people to try the house boba, which is made daily in-house and takes about an hour to prepare.
