Husband and wife offer dishes with Mexican-sourced ingredients at Taco Patron in Conroe
Alma Perez and her husband, Gilbert Perez, moved to Willis three years ago after living in Denver for 15 years, Alma said. Gilbert previously worked as a truck driver in Colorado and did catering on the weekends, but when he started working as a driver in Texas, Alma said the salary was not enough.
“Since he always liked cooking, he said, ‘Well, I might as well start a business,’” Alma said.
HPE relocates aviation department to Conroe
Conroe City Council members unanimously approved a $465,072 grant contract with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. as part of the consent agenda portion of the Dec. 9 meeting, meaning no discussion took place.
The economic development incentive regards HPE relocating its aviation department from San Jose, California, to the Conroe-North Houston Regional Airport, according to meeting information.
