Loss of a Partner Grief Support Group
There's a particular kind of loneliness that comes with losing a spouse or partner — the empty side of the bed, the coffee cup that was theirs, the silence at dinner. Well-meaning friends may not know what to say. The world may already be asking you to "move on." But grief doesn't work that way, and you shouldn't have to carry it alone.
This free, virtual support group offers a space to connect with others who understand — no explanations needed, no pretending you're okay when you're not.
Held on the second Monday of each month from 6:00–7:30 PM CT, the group is open to any adult in Texas grieving the death of a spouse or partner. Sessions are grounded in Worden's Tasks of Mourning and rotate through four themes — Accepting, Processing, Adjusting, and Connecting — so you're welcome to join any month, whether this is your first step toward support or you've been grieving for years.
Each session is facilitated by Ann Cleland, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate at Luminary Counseling, PLLC (supervised by Jennifer Buffalo, M.A., LPC-S, LMFT-S). Expect a warm, structured space for reflection, shared stories, and gentle guidance — not group therapy, but genuine peer connection.
Grief is not a problem to be solved. It's love with nowhere left to go — and with the right support, it can slowly, gently, find its way. If you've lost a spouse or partner, we'd love for you to join us.
The group begins September 14, 2026, and runs monthly through summer 2027. Registration is free — visit luminarycounseling.com/support-groups to reserve your spot.
