College Station ISD trustees approved several bond-funded projects at its April 21 meeting, aimed at modernizing campus technology and replacing aging building systems across the district.
These approved projects will use funds from College Station ISD’s 2021 and 2023 voter-approved bond programs. Upgrades will target classrooms, network infrastructure and mechanical systems.

The vote did not choose a contractor yet. Instead, it allowed the district to move into the next phase, where firms will submit detailed pricing proposals before a final selection.
District Executive Director of Facilities Paul Buckner said the project addresses aging infrastructure identified during a districtwide assessment, which was completed in November 2025.
Planned work includes:
- Completing LED lighting upgrades across campuses
- Replacing aging HVAC systems, including 7-10 units at A&M Consolidated High School that are more than 40 years old
- Installing temperature and humidity control systems in server rooms to protect technology
In an
agenda item memo, Assistant Superintendent of Operations Josh Symank said several server spaces currently operate without climate control, creating risks for network outages and costly equipment failures.
The district will use a design-build delivery method, according to the Symank memo, which will use a single contractor for design and construction. Symank said this method reduces risk, improves coordination and moves work along quicker.
According to Buckner’s memo, most construction work is expected to take place after the school day, on weekends or during school breaks in order to minimize classroom disruptions.

Trustees also approved multiple purchases funded through bond programs to modernize learning environments and campus infrastructure.
Approved projects include:
- $263,762 in district management technology
- $826,748 in classroom audiovisual equipment and upgrades at Career and Technical Education Center classroom and arena, AMCHS and College Station High School, plus the fine arts and auxiliary gym at CSHS
- $161,079 for cabling infrastructure upgrades at CSHS
These consent agenda items were passed without discussion.
In addition, the board also approved a Head Start carryover request, allowing $119,000 in unused funds to be redirected toward other school programs.
