Helados La Azteca, a Waco-based Hispanic family-owned paleteria known for its traditional Mexican ice cream and snacks, will soon open a new location in Bryan.
About the project
The shop will be located in a space previously long-occupied by Direct Auto Insurance. It joins the company's existing four locations across Central Texas.
An opening date has not been announced.
A family affair
Founded in 1998 by the Garcia family, Helados La Azteca traces its roots to Jalisco and says its mission is centered on sharing authentic Mexican flavors through ice cream, snacks and community-focused service.
Garcia was also named in Forbes' 2026 "30 Under 30" in its food and beverage category. He took over the family business in his early 20s and has since expanded it.

In addition to its expansion to the Brazos Valley, the business recently gained national attention after appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show in April, where Garcia joined his father and Helados La Azteca founder to highlight their family story and cultural roots.
