After opening up shop in the early 2010s, Perrine Winery in College Station it's set to close its Texas location at the end of July and move upstream to the state of Virginia.

According to Perrine Winery's website, the owners believe it's time to "pass the torch" onto the next generation. Their daughter, who lives in Virginia, is taking over.
Co-owner Beth Perrine told Community Impact they will be helping their daughter open the new location in Portsmouth, VA. They believe they've found the perfect location with lots of foot traffic.
What they offer
Since 2011, the Perrines have been making their own wines and wine drinks. They offer by-the-bottle or by-the-glass with your traditional varietals, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio. They also offer snacks to go with your wine of choice.

Perrine said the move to pass on the winery to the next generation is motivated by two factors. The first being, it was time to retire as she and her husband have been running the business on their own for nearly 15 years. She said there's just not as many people drinking these days. She credited the decline in sales to a neo-prohibition movement of young people not going out and drinking as much, buying mocktails and CBD/THC-infused drinks.
Even though the Perrines will be staying in Aggieland, they are excited to finally do some traveling.
"We started this from scratch. ... It's kind of mixed emotions, sad about [closing in College Station]. We've met a lot of people who've come through here, they've been great people. Some have become lifelong friends," she said. "But, it's time. We have a motorhome we have hardly ever used. ... We're looking forward to that."
Before you go
While a tentative closure date of July 31 has been posted, there is a chance Perrine Winery will stay open a little while longer. They said their website will also be updated soon with information on closings sales and events, such as their artist showcase in April.
