College Station is getting a Sprouts Farmers Market, and officials said they expect it to open in the fall.

Construction on the project was slated to begin Jan. 19, but officials were unable to provide an update on where things stood as of mid-February, Sprouts spokesperson Mychael Ramirez said in a Feb. 11 email.
Documents from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show work could wrap up in July. As of Feb. 13, Community Impact confirmed work was ongoing at the site.
The project includes a $3.6 million renovation of the former Big Lots building, which is roughly 23,000 square feet, according to the TDLR filings.

Sprouts is a national grocery store that specializes in organic foods with hundreds of locations across the country, according to its website. It has over 60 locations in Texas.
“We’re excited to open a new Sprouts Farmers Market location in College Station and growing our presence in Texas,” Ramirez said in the email.
