Demolition for the southbound bridge along Loop 610 over Brays Bayou in southwest Houston is facing delays as the Jan. 9 start date has been pushed back to the end of the month, according to Emily Black, Texas Department of Transportation public information officer .

“That date is definitely not set in stone, though. We are waiting for a third party to remove their lines from the bridge before we can begin,” Black said.

The estimated $3 million dollar project includes widening the lanes from 11 to 12 feet as well as adding shoulders and 6-foot-wide sidewalks.
